Sugar Spine is not as sweet as it sounds.
The 4-piece group based in Utrecht, the Netherlands, is making its mark on metal with furious hardcore riffs and soaring choruses.
Exploring themes of self-worth, love, hate and loss, the music sits comfortably in all of these uncomfortable feelings.

VIOLENT HEAVEN
Sugar Spine's latest EP, releasing August 21, 2025

HITTING THE GROUND RUNNING
Originally hailing from Sydney, Australia, frontman Josh Muncke relocated to the Netherlands in 2022 with a singular goal: transform his bedroom project into a full-blown sonic assault. In a remarkably short time, Sugar Spine has evolved from local debutants to internationally recognized innovators in the metalcore scene.
Their rise has been anything but quiet. With a sound that fuses crushing riffs and sharp songwriting, Sugar Spine has earned global attention. They’ve dropped a full-length album, an EP, and a string of heavy-hitting singles featuring notable collaborators like Cabal, Distant, Bleed From Within, To The Grave, Born of Osiris, and more.
Their breakout track, Go Outside, has become a social media staple—going viral more than once and becoming a crowd favorite at live shows, where fans erupt at the song’s unmistakable callout.
Now signed to Danish powerhouse label Prime Collective and repped by booking agency Doomstar Bookings, Sugar Spine is poised to unleash their intensity on stages across Europe and beyond. With a new EP slated for release this year and plans to tour, the band is ready to break out of the Dutch metalcore underground and into the global spotlight.
